The future is nigh!

October 10, 2011

Today the first line up announcement was released for the Future Music Festival.  I was ecstatic to see Tinie Tempah, Swedish House Mafia and Fatboy Slim.  I was pretty happy with this.

I went to Future Music this year which was my first ever music festival.  It was awesome!! I loved every bit of it.

I was pretty drunk before hand with the girls and had an epic trek to Flemington.  It went from 30 plus degrees to 15 within 2 hours (typical Melbourne weather) then stormed up.  It bucketed and my already see-through top was stuck to my boobs like a 16 year old boys hands!!  I froze and held my pee to ensure my spot in the mosh pit was not lost for about 5 hours.  Yes, 5 HOURS!!!

But to see Dizzee Rascal in the flesh so up close, it was totally worth it!

Next year will be rad, kaleidoscopic and pure awesomeness!

Even though you are a wanker, I love your music.  So because of this, I will allow you to indulge in your own ego!

BOY AND BEAR!! It’s what I have been listening to for the past week and a half now since the album rocked up in a neat little package.  I pre-ordered their album, in which came with a signed poster by the band.  My excitement and joy was that high when I saw the package on my kitchen bench.

That week, I had also purchased a ticket with three other loverly ladies to their Moonfire tour.  My life is complete with that and Falls Festival tickets and perhaps Meredith, life is swell.  I actually cried when I got my Falls ticket, along with Boy and Bear.  Live music rocks my jocks and should yours too!

So here are a few links to the wonderful world of Boy and Bear, including their Facebook fan page and a review on the new Album, Moonfire.

Enjoy xx

Yes.  It is a name of a band.  A funky indie rock, pop, folk band (I am covering all basis’s here!) and they are quite enjoyable to listen to.  I am disappointed to hear that they recently toured and I missed their concert…frowny face.

But on another happy note, my new found friendship with HR (who I inevitably met after we slept with the same guy without knowing it…) has become quite lovely.  Last night I called her up while catching up with a friend for drinks, then made my way to her doorstep in which she let me in (even though I smelt boozy) and offered me a bed.  She didn’t have to, because I live in the same suburb, but different sides.  But she still did and she also had many gifts awaiting.

It is so nice when a friend gives you a gift of appreciation of your friendship and I believe it should be done more often, even if handmade e.g. cupcakes.  Especially when you have shared a horrible experience.

Anyway, I was delighted to see she had bought me the SINGLE, MOST ADORABLE hot water bottle with a fawn sewn into it.

I shall take a photo of it another day and post.  But its pure awesomeness!!

Wow I have gone crazy posting lately.  You are probably thinking I have no life.  But in fact, mine is superb.  I have great friends who I see everyday, I have a job that I work when I need or want, I am studying and I am blogging.  Perfect!
